Forensic accounting is the practice of binding together accounting and auditing with investigative skills to assist in legal matters. It is primarily used in areas such as litigation support, investigation, and dispute resolution.

What we do

Early involvement of a Forensic Accountant to examine the financial and business aspects of disputes often leads to speedy and cost efficient resolutions. Our analysis draws upon both our accounting and commercial experience in the assessment of facts. We provide expert input and support at the pre-trial, trial and settlement stages of disputes, including:

  • Detailed pre-trial investigation
  • Advice on technical accounting, taxation and business matters
  • Assistance with Discovery
  • Analysis of financial evidence
  • Giving evidence as an expert witness
  • Evaluation of taxation and business implications of settlements

The initial review of a dispute is without obligation and takes the form of a short report detailing what facts and areas need to be considered further. Our fees are based upon the time spent in performing the investigation, preparing our report and any subsequent involvement.

We have undertaken a very wide variety of Forensic Accounting engagements, including:

  • Loss of earnings and personal injury claims
  • Marital separation and divorce
  • Breach of contract, consequential loss and commercial litigation
  • Professional negligence
  • Fraud and white collar crime
  • Class actions
  • Insurance claims
  • Financial investigations

We have also been asked to give Forensic Accounting evidence in cases involving rent disputes, anti competition and shareholder or partnership disputes.

Acting for either plaintiff or defendant we have worked throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom. We provide a professional and confidential service. On any engagement, you will be dealing directly with one of our Directors. In the first instance we will review the case, without obligation, and provide a short report detailing what facts and areas need to be considered further. We will also give an estimate of our fees which are based on time spent in performing our work and preparing a report.
